TaTEDO Participated in the European Parliamentary hearing for “Better Funding of Modern Energy Services Access for the Poor” in Brussels, Belgium
Tuesday May 11th, Hon. Gay Mitchell and Hon. Nirj Deva who are members of the European Parliament in collaboration with Europe External Policy Advisors (EEPA) and Hivos hosted a successful hearing on energy and development issues. The main objective of this hearing was to lobby for the increase of the funding of renewable energy projects by the European Commission.

Participants of the hearing were members of the European parliament, representatives from European Commission for Development, the Executive Director of TaTEDO, Mr. Estomih Sawe and Mr. Saroj Rai who is the Executive Director of Biogas Sector Partnership of Nepal.
Participants heard presentations by renewable energy experts Mr. Saroj Rai of Biogas Sector Partnership-Nepal and Mr. Estomih Sawe from TaTEDO on the energy challenges and development realities in their countries. They highlighted the difficulties developing countries face in trying to increase implementation and efficiency of renewable energy with limited funding.

TaTEDO Hosted Young Global Leaders (YGLs) During World Economic Forum on Africa in Tanzania May 2010
On 3rd of May, TaTEDO and her Sustainable Energy and Development Centre (SEDC) hosted a group of 27 Young Global Leaders (YGLs) for the Actual Impact Journeys. TaTEDO demonstrated to the YLG group the technologies it promotes to the communities. There were also some presentations of the organization including success and the challenges in the energy sector and for the organization as a whole.

The World Economic Forum was schedule to be held for two-and-a-half-days Summit, one day was devoted to “Impact Journeys”, which gave YGLs the opportunity to work with Tanzanian government, civil society and private sector organizations on their challenges, innovations and models for social change.

TaTEDO is among the “Top Three” winners for the year 2010 in Engineering , Energy and Minerals Categories in the Dar es salaam International Trade Fair (DITF)
TaTEDO was awarded two certificates for the impressive performance in the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) 2010, whereby in 1st July 2010 the Tanzania Board of External Trade (BET) announced TaTEDO as the 3rd winner for the Engineering and service Provision and the Energy and Minerals Categories in the year 2010.

Dar es Salaam's International Trade Fair happens annually on the 7th July and this was the 34th DITF which was organized at Mw. J.K Nyerere Trade Grounds started on 26th June 2010 up to 9th July 2010.
The main theme of this event was KILIMO KWANZA (Priority to Agriculture) and TaTEDO supported this theme through promotion of its services, biofuel products, post-harvest agro-processing, solar drying, and agro-forestry through demonstrations in order to bring awareness to the stakeholders.
