Farmers Received Productive Knowledge of Growing Jatropha in Handeni and Muheza Districts

A total of 78 farmers from Handeni and Muheza villages participated in the Jatropha growing and nursery establishment training in their respective districts. The training was conducted by TaTEDO from 15th April to 25th April 2009 and funded by Norwegian Government Programme. The main objective of the training was to mobilize farmers and impart knowledge of growing Jatropha, its uses, values, marketability and nursery management in order to create demand and increase its supply by improving cultivation and crop husbandry.

TaTEDO Extends its Rural Electrification Development Initiatives to Rukwa Region

Rukwa Region is located in the remote South-Western extreme of Tanzania between Lakes Tanganyika and Rukwa. It occupies an area of 75,240sq.km. Sumbawanga is one of the four districts of the Rukwa Region, with geographical coverage area of 13,586 m2, which covers almost 17% of the total area of the region. The district has 169 villages.
